The History of the Church

The journey of the Healing Church of God in Christ began over five decades ago when Mother and Bishop Small answered the call to establish a place of worship and healing in Forest Gate. Through their dedication and sacrifice, the church flourished, becoming a pillar of strength and support for its members.

Following their legacy, Pastor Clarke and Superintendent Bowers carried the torch of leadership with Great Grace and Conviction until their respective passing in 1992 & 1993. Pastor A. Reid humbly carried the leadership mantel until 2018.

Today, under the leadership of Pastor Jeph Bowers, the Healing Church of God in Christ continues to thrive, with the mission to ignite a passion for Christ in everyday people. We seek to deepen our faith, strengthen our community, and spread the love of God in every place.

As we reflect on our rich history, we are reminded of the faithfulness of God and the countless lives that have been transformed within these walls. As we look to the future, we are filled with hope and anticipation for all that lies ahead, knowing that the same God who has brought us this far will continue to lead and guide us every step of the way.
